🐟A little word about fish
The Lionfish, also known as Flying Scorpionfish, is a magnificent rockfish found in the Mediterranean and in warm waters around the globe. However, it has a bad reputation and is classified as an invasive species in the Caribbean and along the American coasts due to its voracity. It is a formidable predator for small reef fish.
Born from saltwater and brushstrokes, Varek Illustrations is the story of two French brothers—Côme and Roméo—painters, fishermen, and lifelong dreamers of the sea. From the rocky shores of Île de Ré to far-flung coastlines, they capture the poetry of marine life with every hand-painted fish and shellfish.
At Esplora, we bring their vision to life through a curated collection of aprons, tea towels, and table linens—each piece printed with Varek’s signature illustrations and crafted in France with artisanal care. It’s coastal storytelling you can wear, gift, and gather around.
