Deep in the heart of Central Mexico in the town of San Miguel de Allende, lives artist Luis Romero and his partner River.

Drawn to the area for its natural beauty and its culturally equitable life, inspiration here is found around every corner.

A self-taught artist, Luis was born and raised in Mexico City, it was the city’s creative undercurrent that has been one of his greatest influences. His work concentrates on the faces of people, of beloved Saints and angels and the different traditions and celebrations of Mexico. He captures the beauty and vibrant color of old Mexico.

His folkloric illustrations are storytellers, memories on paper translated in the form of small original art works, cards and votive candles.

His work has a sweetness, an honesty reminiscent of simpler times in the world.
