Les Toiles du Soleil’s beautiful Cotton Canvases are produced exclusively in France in Saint Laurent de Cerdans in the Pyrénées Orientales nestled in a green setting of the Vallespir.

The same looms as those of the past are still used to create these famous striped fabrics. Each style has a name and its own story, the artistic director Henri Quinta finding his sources of inspiration through landscapes, travels and the art world.

Product Detail:

  • Les Toiles du Soleil presents the BOSSA tote bag, the inner English stitching and the wide handle make it a quality tote bag.

  • Please note: totes are cut in a width of 180 cm with differently placed stripes in a harmonious color palette, stripe position will vary from bag to bag

  • French seams, topstitching: this tote bag is handmade with care in Saint-Laurentde-Cerdans, France.

  • Size: Width 30cm x37cm

  • Made from Les Toiles du Soleil : Toulouges 100% cotton canvas - 300gr/m2.

  • This fabric is woven in France on old shuttle looms: a unique weaving process that gives it great strength (Martindale: 40,000 cycles).

  • Two shoulder straps

  • Unlined

  • Maintenance: Before the first wash, immerse the canvas in cold water for 24 hours, this will minimize the rate of shrinkage of the fabric. Machine washable at 60°C with gentle spin cycle. Do not put it in the dryer.

The ancestral techniques of their warpers and weavers, the traditional manufacturing processes that are still used today make this company an exceptional place, a conservatory of the industrial heritage that has completely disappeared elsewhere in France.
