Easter at Kirra Point — Oceanfront Living, Slow Mornings & the Gold Coast at Its Most Charming
Some places feel like a return to the beach holidays we grew up with — sun‑bleached days, sandy floors, the hum of surf culture, and a coastline that seems to stretch into forever. Kirra Point Holiday Apartments is exactly that. A nostalgic, quietly luxurious corner of the Southern Gold Coast where surfers, backpackers, young families and the well‑heeled all fold into the same easy rhythm.
We spent four nights over Easter in an oceanfront apartment, and from the moment we opened the balcony doors, the view became the center of everything. A wide, endless sweep of blue. At low tide, the beach transforms into a sheltered lagoon — calm, shallow and divine — the kind of water you wade into without thinking, just to feel the warmth on your skin.
The Apartments — Light, Coastal & Designed for Real Life
Kirra Point offers 1, 2 and 3‑bedroom layouts, each one spacious and thoughtfully designed for long, easy days by the sea. Interiors are light and coastal, with a softness that instantly slows you down.
Inside, you’ll find:
Fully equipped kitchens with state‑of‑the‑art appliances
Indoor and outdoor living spaces that blur into the horizon
Wall‑mounted TVs and entertainment systems
Luxury amenities throughout
Outside, the hotel‑style comforts continue:
Heated 25m pool
BBQ area with panoramic ocean views
Secure basement parking
Beach essentials, bikes for hire and a gymnasium
It’s the perfect blend of apartment living and resort ease — elevated, but never over‑styled.
A Front‑Row Seat to Australia’s Surfing Heart
From Kirra Point Holiday Apartments, you’re:
Steps from Kirra Point — barrels on the right day, cruisy longboard waves on smaller swells
A short walk or bike ride to Coolangatta, Greenmount and Rainbow Bay
Moments from Snapper Rocks, a world‑renowned break
Even if you never touch a board, the spectacle alone is hypnotic.
Walks, Wanders & That Endless Coastline
Kirra is made for wandering — barefoot, coffee in hand, sun on your shoulders.
Our favourite walks:
Kirra to Coolangatta — breezy and beachfront
Coolangatta to Rainbow Bay — turquoise water and pandanus trees
Rainbow Bay to Greenmount Hill — sweeping views and golden light
Greenmount to Snapper Rocks — dramatic coastline and surf action
Or hire a bike and follow the Oceanway path all the way to Tugun.
A Moment of Stillness — Native State Bathhouse
One afternoon, we slipped into the Native State Bathhouse, a serene, sensory reset that felt worlds away from the beach crowds.
We moved between:
Cold and hot plunges
Infrared sauna
Traditional sauna
Steam room
Meditation room with moulded recliners and guided meditation, I fell asleep — the ultimate compliment.
Skydivers, Sunsets & Kirra’s Everyday Theatre
Each day, skydivers drifted down from the clouds and landed with perfect precision on the beach below. It became a ritual — coffee in hand, eyes on the sky, waiting for the parachutes to appear.
If you’re tempted, Gold Coast Skydive offers tandem jumps that land right on Kirra Beach.
Where to Eat — Kirra’s Food Scene Is Quietly Excellent
Kirra’s dining culture is relaxed, delicious and wonderfully close to home.
Our favourites:
Siblings — breezy, bright, perfect for long lunches
Hanks — coastal Italian with charm
Billy Chows — bold, modern Asian
Agave Rosa — tacos, margaritas, holiday energy
The Happy Snapper — classic fish and chips done right
MADE Barber & Barista — our daily coffee ritual, just downstairs
Love Street Store — part café, part gallery, part surf shop
Cotton Living- homewares store that’s also a patisserie café inside if you love a French Patisserie
Downstairs at Kirra Point:
Kirra Beach Hotel — easy pub meals with ocean breezes
Kirra Beach House — cocktails, share plates and views for days
Sun, surf, sand and seriously good food — Kirra’s culinary scene is far better than a town this relaxed has any right to be.
Kirra Beach — A Century of Holiday Magic
Kirra has been a beloved holiday destination for over 100 years. Locals adore it, and once you’re here, it’s easy to see why.
World‑class surf
One of the Gold Coast’s best swimming beaches
A wide, golden stretch of sand
A neighbourhood that still feels like a community
It’s small, but mighty — a place where the days feel long, the water feels warm, and the world feels softer.
A Stay That Stays With You
What we loved most about Kirra Point was its sense of nostalgia — a place that feels like the beach holidays of childhood, but with better coffee, better food, and a front‑row seat to one of the most beautiful coastlines in Australia.
Four nights wasn’t enough. Kirra has a way of slowing you down, softening the edges, and reminding you how good it feels to live by the tide.
