The concept of COQ is "a place where creations breathe”. COQ means "breath" in Japanese, and it expresses their wish to deliver a lifestyle in which the body and mind can breathe comfortably.
COQ's creations are inspired by the nature of Hokkaido, the brands hometown, it is here that the surrounding landscape provides a place where "creativity breathes". They celebrate the rich potential of fabrics. Their textiles draw heavy inspiration from nature, reflecting the visceral effects of air, sunlight, wind, and water through the use of patterns, materials, and textures. To realize designs, artisans marry contemporary techniques with traditional skills such as Nishijin weaving, a centuries-old process that uses many different coloured yarns. Their focus is on environmentally friendly manufacturing in order to transmit an ethical lifestyle selecting materials that do not place a burden on the environment and utilize knitting technology that requires less waste in the production process.
