The Cereria Introna company has been operating in the world of wax since 1840. The founder of the company, Nicola Introna saw a demand for clean-burning, high quality wax candles in the deeply religious region of Puglia in Southern Italy. As demand for votive and worship candles wained in the late 20th century, Cereria Introna adopted new manufacturing methods and began producing more elaborate “artistic” candles. Six generations later the company is led now by brothers Vincenzo and Rossella Introna who have expand this impressive business which is now considered a leader in the candle sector around the globe.

For many the humorous aspect of these candles is definitely appealing, the bright, colourful and cheerful designs sees most respond to them with joy. The life-sized cake collection decorated in a riot of piping and maraschino cherries have received cult status in many cities around the world. For me when I see a cake, I always think something celebratory is happening, in a way this collection just brings happiness, these wax extravaganzas look more delicious than candles have a right to be.
